Pirate IPTV Arrests – Three Men Arrested on Suspicion of Copyright

However, this time it was three individuals who were arrested in connection with the supply of pirate IPTV services.
According to a report from TorrentFreak, three men in Northern England have been arrested on the suspicion of copyright infringement by police forces in the UK.
The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWUOCU) worked with police forces in Lancashire to execute three search warrants as part of the “continuing fight against illegal streaming.”
An official press release from The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit’s website stated the following:
“Officers visited three addresses in Blackpool, Kirkham and Oldham and seized a variety of equipment in relation to the provision of internet protocol television (IPTV), an illegal service providing access to premium content including TV, films and sport.”
The press release then went on to explain a few details about the individuals who were arrested on suspicion of pirate IPTV copyright infringement:
“Two 31 year old men from Blackpool and a 29 year old man from Oldham were all arrested on suspicion of infringement of copywrite.”
However, the Lancashire Police and other authorities did not provide any additional information about the name of the IPTV service, the roles of the individuals, or whether they were directly involved in operating an IPTV service themselves.
