Movizland Streaming Site Shut Down by ACE/MPA

The once-popular Movizland streaming website has been shut down by ACE/MPA.

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) is a global anti-piracy organization that is responsible for shutting down hundreds of pirate streaming sites.

This streaming site was extremely popular in the Middle East. In recent months, Movizland was among the top 100 most visited websites in the country of Egypt.

Movizland offered a VOD library of TV series and movies in Arabic and original versions, consisting of around 34,000 titles affecting all ACE members.

According to reports, the Alliance of Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) identified the operator and then brought this case to the attention of Egyptian authorities.

This person was located through an in-house investigation by ACE, where third-party subpoenas also proved useful.

ACE Executive Vice President Jan van Voorn stated the following on the shutdown of Movizland:

“I’d like to congratulate the Egyptian authorities yet again for taking action against an individual who was profiting from the sale of stolen content. This type of illicit activity not only robs creators of their copyright, but it puts consumers at great risk for exposing personal information to criminals.”
