Amazon Launching New “Fire TV Channels” Service – Free Live TV
Amazon has announced the launch of a new service soon with over 400 free live channels.
This new service will be called “Fire TV Channels,” a free live TV service that will work similarly to Pluto TV and The Roku Channel.
Amazon expects this service will launch in the summer of 2023 and will offer 400 free live channels. This new feature will work on Amazon Firesticks and other Fire TV devices.
We expect this to be a great added option for cord-cutters to pair with their existing streaming apps and live TV services.
Most cord-cutters watch live TV on their Firestick and Fire TV devices due to their low prices and ease of jailbreaking.
Amazon’s official press release explains more about the new “Fire TV Channels” offering:
“Fire TV customers in the U.S. are getting even more free, live, on-demand, and short-form content with the launch of Fire TV Channels–no sign-ups or fees required.
Rolling out this week and expanding on Fire TV’s existing FAST experience, Fire TV Channels gives customers instant access to a unique lineup of fresh content from over 400 providers, curated by popular categories including local and national News, Sports, Music Videos, Entertainment, Food & Cooking, Video Games, and more.”
These 400 live channels will include content from the NHL, Xbox, and TMZ, as well as an entirely new Travel category.
The Travel category offers guides and other resources on trending destinations. Tastemade Travel, Rick Steves’ Europe, Travel Hacks (Pack Hacker), and Condé Nast Traveler will all provide content.
This new Fire TV Channels feature will bring together premium free content that spans diverse customer interests from a growing list of household names like ABC News, CBS Sports HQ, FOX Sports, Major League Baseball, NBC News Now, Martha Stewart, and America’s Test Kitchen.
Whether checking the latest news and sports stories or planning a dream vacation, Fire TV Channels makes it easy. Trending content playlists like NHL Playoff Highlights are discoverable on Fire TV’s ‘Free’ tab and Home screen with one click to instant playback, so it’s a breeze finding something fun to watch.
Customers can dive deep into their interests with dedicated category pages for dozens of live and on-demand video playlists, updated continuously throughout the day.
This summer, Fire TV will bring all of these fast categories together into a single, easy-to-navigate service with the launch of the Fire TV Channels destination.
This always-on experience will provide customers with even more ways to discover and enjoy this extensive content collection in an easy-to-browse, custom-made watch experience.
