ACE Shuts Down Popular IPTV Hosting Websites

According to reports, ACE has shut down CableKill, CK Hosting, and more pirate sites.

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) is a global anti-piracy organization responsible for shutting down hundreds of pirate streaming sites.

When it comes to IPTV services, streaming apps, and streaming websites, there are thousands of verified and unverified options.

ACE Shuts Down CableKill and CK Hosting

This time it’s two notable IPTV hosting websites on ACE’s radar – CabelKill and CK Hosting.

CableKill was one of the most popular IPTV review/hosting websites, with thousands of visitors and subscribers on YouTube.

CableKill.us was launched about half a decade ago. This platform offered tutorials on how to cut ties with their cable providers and use pirate apps instead.

The website boasted about enabling users to bypass large companies, watch any movie or TV show at their convenience, any sports event live irrespective of their location, and all that for nominal to zero monthly fees.

In retrospect, some of the logos used by the site proved problematic. For instance, the sports streaming app Mobdro collapsed spectacularly in 2021, while Area51 was closed by ACE in 2020 and later fined $272k in damages.

The people behind Gears TV were obliged to pay back millions and are now serving prison sentences.

The exact reasons leading to the ACE/MPA acquisition of the CableKill.us domain remain unclear, as is the case for CKhosting.org.

The latter operated under the brand name CK Servers and was also brought under MPA/ACE control.

Possible reasons could be hosting many popular free pirate apps, selling set-top boxes pre-configured for piracy, or promoting, selling, and/or hosting premium IPTV services.

Although the specifics are not publicly available, any of these would have been enough to trigger ACE’s action.

The operator of CableKill and CK Hosting exposed themselves further by making both email and physical addresses public, which likely facilitated ACE’s actions.

Overall, it will be interesting to see what happens to the operator of CK Hosting and CableKill.
